Mission Details

Yaogan 34

Yaogan 34 is an optical remote sensing satellite, with a ground image resolution of a few meters, mainly used for land census, urban planning, land rights, road network design, crop yield estimation, and disaster prevention and mitigation. It was built by SAST.

It was launched on the same orbit and orbital plane as the triplets of satellites of the Yaogan-31 constellation. Yaogan-34 is thus probably an optical satellite with a military purpose, in charge of improving or confirming the ELINT observations made by Yaogan-31.
