Armée de l'Air, translated as the French Air and Space Force, is the air and space branch of the French Armed Forces. Established in 1909, it is one of the world's oldest air forces. Armée de l'Air is responsible for air defense, aerial warfare, reconnaissance, transport, and the projection of French air power globally. The force operates a diverse fleet of aircraft, including fighter jets, transport aircraft, helicopters, and unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs). In addition to its traditional air capabilities, Armée de l'Air also oversees France's space operations through the French Air and Space Command, which manages the country's military space assets and satellite communications systems.
