EROS B

EROS B (Earth Resources Observation Systems) was built by the MBT division of the Israeli company Israel Aircraft Industries (IAI) on behalf of the Israeli company ImageSat International. It is an Earth observation satellite with a mass of 360 kg and a resolution of 70cm.

Compared to its predecessor (EROS A, launched on December 5, 2000), EROS B has a larger capacity recorder, a faster data link and higher aiming accuracy.

The lifetime of EROS B is ten years. Its launch was originally announced for the year 2003. The satellite is to be used by the Israeli military to monitor the Islamic Republic of Iran.
