Omid is an artificial satellite built by the military electronics holding company SAIran whose design began in February 2006. Its cubic shape has 40 centimeters of side and its mass is 27 kg. Its orientation is not stabilized. It is powered by batteries with a lifespan of 50 days. It has telecommunication equipment operating in the UHF band that allows it to record and retransmit data. It carries an instrument for measuring space conditions and a GPS4 receiver.
