Cosmos 2487

The Kondor, alias Cosmos 2487, is a small military radar Earth observation satellite prototype designed by NPO Mashinostroyeniya.

The Kondor satellite features a S-band synthetic apperture radar (SAR), which can conduct both continous swath surweys or detailed spot surveys. The swath width is 10 km. Ground resolution is 1-2 m in spotlight mode, 1-3 m in stripmap mode and 5-30 m in ScanSAR mode.

The operational version is named Kondor-E 1.
