APSTAR 6 is a high-power satellite based on a Spacebus-4000C2 model with 38 C-band (64 W each) transponders and 12 Ku-band (145 W each) transponders. This satellite has an Asia Pacific footprint including Hawaii and a mission life of over 14 years. Besides, it is the first civil satellite in China to be equipped with an anti-jamming system.

APSTAR 6 was launched in 2005 to replace APSTAR IA at the geostationary orbital slot 134 degrees East.
