ASNARO 2

Wiki

The ASNARO 2 (Advanced Satellite with New system Architecture for Observation) is an planned Japanese radar satellite. It will feature an X-band radar. The satellite is based on NEC's NEXTAR NX-300L bus. The imaging system is the 1 kW XSAR, a X-band SAR with a ground resolution of 1 m and a swath width of 10 km. XSAR can also be employed in the ScanSAR mode, which uses the satellite’s attitude control system to sweep out adjacent image strips to allow a broader ground swath to over 50 km, but with a reduced resolution of 16 meters.
