The plane's engine was shut down about 1 second after its ignition due to a computer communications issue. The vehicle was able to return and land on the runway.
VF-02
VF-02 was piloted by David Mackay and CJ Sturckow. This flight was designed to fulfill a number of objectives, including testing elements of the customer cabin as well as assessing the upgraded horizontal stabilizers and flight controls during boost. The flight also carried payloads as part of the NASA Flight Opportunities Program.
