Launch Notes

Flight ST-07. First flight of the Fregat stage.

Demonstrator

The demonstration mission of the Fregat stage carried only one model, named Demonstrator. This model, like the Fregat stage, was equipped with an inflatable heat shield to allow it to be returned to Earth. After several days of orbital flight, Demonstrator landed on Earth, where it was recovered. The Fregat stage also landed successfully in Russia, but it wasn't found. It's likely that it was resold for its metal by locals.
