Gaofen 4 (GF 4) is a geostationary earth observation satellite in the Gaofen series of Chinese civilian remote sensing satellites. GF 4 features a visible light and infrared staring optical imager with a common optical system. The ground resolution for the visible light imager is 50 m and for the infra-red payload is 400 m. This payload allows the observation of China and the surrounding areas with a high temporal resolution.
