Launch Notes

LV0006. First launch of Rocket 3 with a customer payload. First Rocket 3 with stretched propellant tanks. One of the five Delphin engines on the first stage failed <1 second after liftoff after fuel pump electrical connection was damaged by unexpected external combustion from fuel & oxidizer leakage. This caused the vehicle to veer sharply before guidance was able to correct the error. The rocket was able to continue for about two and a half minutes before the flight was terminated.

STP-27AD1

Test payload for the United States Space Force Space Test Program (STP). The payload is not made to separate from the second stage of the rocket.
