For the first time, Rocket Lab attempted a mid air recovery of an Electron booster. While the booster was caught, the helicopter pilot experienced unexpected forces and made the decision to cut the line the booster was hanging from. It splashed down and was recovered by Rocket Lab's recovery ship.
