Mission Details

Elytra Mission 1

Elytra Mission 1 will demonstrate the responsive on-orbit capabilities of the Elytra vehicle. In support of Xtenti’s follow-on study contract with the NRO, the mission will demonstrate a rapid payload reconfiguration prior to launching in addition to responsive on-orbit deployments after launching. After the initial set of payloads are deployed in low Earth orbit, Elytra will stand ready to perform an on-orbit maneuver when called upon before deploying the second set of payloads from the same dispenser that can open and close on-demand.
