Mission Details

Missile Track Custody (USSF-95)

First prototype satellite for the USSF's Missile Track Custody (MTC) program, which aims to make the USSF's on-orbit missile warning and tracking capabilities more resilient against growing threats. Today, those satellites either reside in geosynchronous orbit or in highly elliptical orbit beyond GEO. Through MTC, the USSF plans to launch warning and tracking satellites to medium Earth orbit where space sensors can observe a larger area. The USSF plans to upgrade the satellites’ technology, launching new batches, or epochs, of spacecraft every few years.
