Intuitive Machines will join NASA’s new era of lunar exploration with a robotic landing on the Moon under a contract award announced by NASA CLPS (Commercial Moon Landing Services). The lander will fly as many as five payloads to Oceanus Procellarum, a scientifically intriguing dark spot on the Moon.
Lunar Flashlight is a low-cost CubeSat lunar orbiter mission to explore, locate, and estimate size and composition of water ice deposits on the Moon for future exploitation by robots or humans.
Lunar Flashlight was originally manifested as a secondary payload on Artemis-1, but due to schedule delays had to find another launch provider and thus co-manifested with NOVA C.
