Flight VA258.

Eutelsat Konnect VHTS

Eutelsat Communications ordered in April a new-generation high-throughput Ka-band satellite called Eutelsat Konnect VHTS from Thales Alenia Space to serve Europe with a Ka-band capacity of 500 Gbps. The 6400 kg satellite will use Thales Alenia Space's new Spacebus-Neo platform and will be launched in 2021. It will use the most powerful onboard digital processor ever put in orbit, offering capacity allocation flexibility, optimal spectrum use, and progressive ground network deployment. Thales Alenia Space will also develop a satellite and ground segment solution. The investment in KONNECT VHTS replaces the project of a joint investment with ViaSat in the ViaSat 3-EMEA satellite for Europe, Africa, and the Middle East.
