The ST 1 (Shen Tong 1) series satellites are reportedly Chinese military comsats. ST 1 is the first Chinese satellite to provide Ku-band communication and to feature advanced multiple steerable spot beam antenna technology to enable ground users to communicate while on the move as well as secured uplink transmission for satellite antenna control. It has the most powerful onboard data processing capability of Chinese comsats up to this date. China Aerospace Science and Technology Corp. manufactured the satellites based on the DFH-3 Bus. The launch vehicle was the CZ-3A rocket.
