Intelsat 2 was a series of communication satellites equipped with an advanced antenna design that improved ground coverage.
The spacecraft was composed by a central apogee engine connected with a tube that hosted the antennas around this assembly electronics and other flight equipment. The external surface was covered by solar panels.
